About me
I was born and raised in Sin City (aka Las Vegas) but currently reside in the state of Colorado. I've been super excited to actually have four seasons now!!
I work as a receptionist at a car dealership so I have my ups and downs relating to work. I work with a bunch of guys, with is definitely fun on most days. You should see the stuff they do when bored.
I tried my hand at keeping fish, but they kept dying even though I would do everything right according to fishcare tips and rules. Right now my tank only has a blue Betta fish. I was most sad when my albino pleco died as I had him for over a year. I think I will see how my Betta works out and if he should die, I'll do some serious tank cleaning and maybe relocate the tank, to see if that helps.
I adopted a cute little calico-tiger kitten in the middle of August 2009. She was about ten weeks when I got her and she's mostly gray with black stripes and white paws and even some orange appearing in areas of her body. Poor kitten had a rough weekend on 10/04-05/2009 because she had to get three shots and she was pretty out of it on Sunday.

About my collectionsI am a HUGE DVD freak!! I own over 1200 DVDs and the collection is constantly growing every week.
Now, more specifically...
Movies: I love watching movies. My favorite genres are fantasy/sci-fi, horror/thriller and action. My least favorite is drama. Every other genre tends to fall somewhere in the middle of these. While, I love watching movies, I rarely go to the movie theater/cinema to watch them. I tend to wait until they hit DVD and if it's a movie I really want to see, I'll just buy it straight out. If it's a movie that's been highly praised by friends, family and people in general, I'll probably get it once it hits previously viewed or goes on sale or something.
Music: My taste in music changes from day-to-day and week-to-week. I think it's safe to say that I like pop rock, contemporary hits, and new age music. My favorite things to listen to are piano solos played over the sounds of nature, instrumental soundtracks (especially entire orchestral pieces) and, at the moment, Josh Groban.
Books: OH BOY!! Where to start? I LOVE reading with such passion. More so then listening to music or watching movies. With books, there's no limit to all the creative things you can imagine to go along with the words. They are definitely my favorite ways to escape the crazy world around me. My favorite genre is fantasy. I also like some sci-fi and some romance. Not the traditional romance that can be found at the grocery store in their small selection of books. Basically the only romance I enjoy reading are unofficial sequels/variations to Pride and Prejudice.
Writing: I love to write. Earlier this summer (actually around the end of May), I finally decided that I was going to start writing down all the things that are a product of my extremely overactive imagination (mostly fanfics to start with). Here I am, just a couple of months later and I have thirteen stories written, seven of which I have to continue (i.e. more chapters), but they are just short little stories (the longest is 30 pages). Collectively I have written 80-85 pages so far. I have only just started branching away from writing fanfics (which I used to develop my writing style) and have started writing things that are 100% my own. I'm super excited about it.
Games: Not much into games, but I do have some computer games that I like. Mostly they are ones based off of stuff I like. You can check out my computer game ratings to see what I've rated. Pretty much anything I rated is also stuff I own, and I'm mad that some of them can't play on my more up-to-date computer. |
